Our services are geared toward the Gypsy Horse and the Drum Horse, but we openly welcome all breeds. In fact our background is with many of the US's most popular including Saddlebreds, Walkers, Thourghbreds, Warmbloods, Quarter Horses and many others! Our disciplines include, Dressage, Hunt Seat, Saddleseat, Western Pleasure, all Equitation divisions, reining, Cutting and Team Penning.

Stallion Collection and Semen Evaluating Services

Semen collecting and training is available to outside stallion owners who wish to collect and ship semen within the country and Canada. All breeds three years and older are welcomed.

Stallion Owners with a young or unproven stallion (Three years or older) may wish to have a Semen Evaluation prior to offering the horse to outside mares. This exam and several semen tests give the stallion owner a good indication of the horse's ability to successfully put a mare in foal.

BOARDING Old Mill Farm's Boarding Facility

Old Mill Farm is thrilled to announce that we have expanded! Our new boarding facility, in addition to our current facility, boasts, two barns, an indoor and an outdoor riding arena and miles of trails that only the mountains can offer! Enjoy a fully staffed facility, on property farrier, trainer, instructor, breeding lab, social horse people and very flexible operating hours! Private or Social Turnout, stall cleaning and all the basics (feeding, hay, de-worming and water) including a weekly fly prevention program. 18 acres of well maintained pasture with run-in sheds. Riding Instruction and horse leases also available!

If you are not sure how to go about purchasing or leasing a horse, contact us, we can give you several options.

Only 1 hour from Pittsburgh and just 30 to 40 minutes from Morgantown, we are located in the beautiful mountains, in Chalk Hill, PA!

We offer temporary and full care board. Specialty board for medical layups available. Traveling layovers are welcomed.

Looking for the perfect horse? We can help you find a Gypsy or Drum Horse that fits your needs. We offer only quality horses for sale. Our horses were all imported or bred with a use in mind. Our breeding stock stays with us for their entire lives, we do not buy breeding stock for resale purposes. If we do not have what you are looking for, we will be happy to help you find it or put you in contact with someone who is reputable within the industry. LESSONS & TRAINING

RIDING LESSONS - If you would like to take lessons, we require you be a current boarder or you lease an Old Mill Farm Horse. Please contact us for details or visit the link below.

Students will be introduced to all aspects of learning to ride, including but not limited to proper care of horse andequipment, tacking, ground work and mounted safety. Students may also participate in off site shows and events.

Please note: We have no current openings. If you have a horse that you would like trained at our facility, please reserve now for 2009. Or contact us to be placed on our cancellation list. Bookings are tentative and may be changed, so better be safe than sorry. We will require a refundable $300.00 deposit to hold your booking.

CARE & REHABILITATION


Corrective Shoeing and Rehabilitation – Old Mill Farm, Inc. staffs an on property Certified Farrier (Certified by Oklahoma Horse shoeing School) – Specializing in Founder, Navicular, and severe hoof problems. Corrective costs start at $25.00 per session, with costs going up for shoeing or use of pads. Board is $15.00 per day. Our farrier works under two Equine Specialist vets and has worked on private owned horses in conjunction with Ohio State University. (Vet fees are in addition.) Please contact us for further details.

Medical care and Lay up - Put into place for the Horse Owner that may lack the experience and/or time to care for an ailing horse. Medical lay ups, Re-conditioning, Post-surgery care, Foaling, Post-Foaling and more. A Mobile Vet care unit is always on call. Contact Us.


Equine Insurance

In conjunction with PennSummit Insurance, we can now offer competitive Equine Mortality, Major Medical, Commercial Liability and all other Equine related insurance needs.
